These sessions will rejuvenate your passion for your work of worship ministry, give you a major jump-start on planning for the year, and help train others to help with the task of carrying out worship plans. 

In each session, Marcia offers you the creative pre-work she has done with the history and theological significance of each season as well as an exploration of Revised Common Lectionary, Narrative Lectionary and non-lectionary themes. Then after steeping you in musical, verbal and visual resources, she sets you to working on your own or together with your team on the season.

We cover the theological themes of each liturgical season and how they relate to our spiritual journeys as the human family. We take a look at possible themes coming out of the Revised Common Lectionary, Narrative Lectionary and non-lectionary-based trajectories to jumpstart the creation of your own ideas. If you opt for premium access, you will be able to draw on resources from the Worship Design Studio, utilizing any of our series that span 10 years of Dr. McFee's series worship designs (over 60 series to date). And Marcia will introduce you to the ideas for her own new series work for the year (including the new "Calm and Bright" Advent/Christmas fully-scripted worship series).

Here's an idea: You could do this retreat from the convenience of your office, at home or around a conference table at church with your team. But also consider creating your own incredible setting at a retreat center or AirBnB somewhere special! We know that the sense of "getting away" (even if it is only a few miles away) can really turbo-boost your creative process and concentration. Simply MAKE SURE that you will have high speed Wi-Fi access so that you are able to access the materials and videos easily. Then take your favorite planning materials (Bibles, commentaries, music resources, etc.). Make sure good food is available when you need it; maybe a good cook in your congregation could be involved as their gift to the team! Choose a setting that inspires you to creativity and offers you some uninterrupted concentration. Voila! Your own retreat.

Pastors, not sure if you want to do this on your own or with others from your church? Ask yourself this: Do you need quiet and solitude to focus and create or do you need group energy and the ability to bounce ideas off of others? The answer makes a big difference, and either method is a valid way of doing long-range planning!
